Stakeholder Engagement

Tellus has been discussing the broader Chandler Proposal with an increasing circle of stakeholders since 2012. Consultation with communities and key stakeholders in Darwin, Alice Springs and Titjikala ramped up in 2013. Throughout the evolution of the Project and during EIS preparation, Tellus has undertaken extensive community engagement.

Tellus' objective is to maintain transparency about the Project and operate on a “no surprises” basis. The overall objective of each community and stakeholder engagement session is to identify and record issues and/or concerns and how those issues raised will influence the design and delivery of the Chandler Project.

During preparation of the EIS, Tellus has held a number of key government meetings and presentations. On each occasion, Tellus updated the Major Project Working Group with respect to the Proposal's description and results of engineering and environmental studies.

The draft EIS is available to be viewed at the following locations:
  • NT EPA, Level 1, 16 Parap Road, Parap.
  • Mines and Energy Information Centre, Department of Primary Industry and Resources, 3rd Floor, Paspalis Centrepoint, 48 Smith Street Mall, Darwin.
  • Northern Territory Library, Parliament House, Darwin.
  • Environment Centre Northern Territory, Unit 3, 98 Woods St, Darwin.
  • Arid Lands Environment Centre, 90 Gap Rd, Alice Springs.
  • Central Land Council, 27 Stuart Hwy Alice Springs.
Most parties have requested to be kept informed as the Project progresses through its capital investment plan which includes a number of GO / NO-GO gates. Consultation is currently progressing and involves consultation with the non-government organisations, local politicians and other broader interested parties.

Tellus maintains a stakeholder register and will continue to liaise with the community throughout the life of the Project. Tellus will also place key community and regulatory related information on the Company's website and by sharing News Updates to interested stakeholders.
