Tellus Holdings Ltd (“Tellus”) has successfully completed a groundwater investigation drilling program. The three-month drilling program, managed by Ride Consulting, involved drilling nine holes, geological logging, water sample collection and installation of monitoring equipment.

An aerial imagery and surveying program was completed by Ausurv Surveyors. The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) survey was flown over a 5km2 area and will produce a high resolution geo-referenced 3D digital map and dataset. The data gained from the field programs will provide valuable information for mine development planning and supports the environmental impact assessment work.

The Tellus feasibility study team has expanded with the appointment of Mr Steve Reece as Chandler Project Leader.

Steve is a Chartered Mining Engineer with over 30 years’ operational experience gained in senior mine management positions in the underground coal and evaporite mining sectors. Steve was the youngest appointed colliery manager in the UK and subsequently managed a number of mines in the South Wales and Durham coalfields.

He was later appointed as Mine Manager and then Chief Mining Engineer at Compass Minerals Winsford Rocksalt Mine where he was a key member of the team that planned and implemented Minosus®, the UK’s first underground hazardous waste disposal facility, and Deepstore®, a major underground document archive storage business. Prior to joining Tellus, Steve was Head of Design on the UK’s radioactive waste repository programme. He has also worked for Golder Associates as European Regional Manager for its mine backfill business.
