Tellus Joins Japan & China Trade Delegation

Tellus Holdings Ltd (Tellus) is pleased to announce it is joining a Northern Territory (NT) Government’s trade and investment delegation to Japan on 23 October with the Chief Minister the Hon Adam Giles and China from 30 October to 6 November.

The delegation, led by the Minister for Mines and Energy, the Hon Willem Westra van Holthe, will also attend the China Mining Congress in Tianjin. The Mining Congress is one of the world’s largest mineral investment, cooperation and trading platforms. It covers the whole value chain, including geological surveying, exploration development, mining rights trading, mining investment and financing, smelting and processing, technique and equipment and mining services.

Tellus Managing Director Duncan van der Merwe said the delegation was a chance for explorers like Tellus to capitalise on the good relationships built up between the Territory, Japan and China.

“We are joining this delegation to develop relationships and get a better understanding of the
market opportunities,” he said.
Tellus hopes to use the visit to develop relationships, update parties on Tellus’ projects and commence offtake discussions with customers for salt and fertilisers from its Chandler salt mine project and kaolin from its Sandy Ridge project and investigate logistics and supply chain management options, he said.

Products from the high grade multi-mineral rock salt will include industrial and edible salts and other associated minerals (used for fertilisers) and kaolin that are in demand in China, Japan and the rest of Asia, Mr van der Merwe said.
